Run-out Measuring Instruments

It is necessary to determine a reference to a geometrical element before you can check a run-out deviation. This is a particular challenge for qualified measuring equipments. In general the imaginary midline forms the reference axis of the measurement. It is relatively easy to define the midline of a work-piece with a plan surface. More effort is needed to determine the reference axis at more complex geometrical forms like thread. The thread axis is defined as an axis of a cylinder that covers the pitch diameters over the whole thread length.

With  AXICORD Threas Co-ordinate Measuring Plugs  6241a simple, standard conform and repeatable determination of internal thread is possible. AXICORD positioning plugs are an ideal accessory for CMMs.
